I provided creative direction, design, and production for HDR’s Opacity event and publication series, a 6–8 month initiative produced annually. Conceived for HDR’s global design practice, the series set out to establish a platform that could elevate the firm’s voice within the international design community. The challenge was to create something entirely new that balanced prestige with longevity, while authentically connecting with designers worldwide. My role combined strategic vision with hands-on creative execution—shaping the visual identity, curating content, and ensuring both the event experience and the publication embodied a consistent and compelling narrative. The impact was significant: Opacity transformed HDR’s reputation from respected practice to recognized global design leader. Nearly a decade later, it continues as a signature annual event and enduring publication, reinforcing the firm’s influence year after year.
