Designing clarity in the
midst of crisis
During the height of the pandemic, I contributed to Kaiser Permanente’s COVID-19 response by helping create the Household Prevention Kit program—a three-month initiative that delivered vital health information to more than 536,000 households. The effort was aimed at Kaiser Permanente members and their families, with the urgent goal of making prevention guidance clear, accessible, and culturally relevant. My role spanned creative direction, design, and production, where I developed simplified, multilingual materials featuring custom illustrations and step-by-step instructions that demystified complex health protocols. The result was a resource that empowered diverse communities to protect themselves and their loved ones, while setting a benchmark for how design can drive effective public health communication. The project’s impact was recognized globally, earning runner-up in the 2021 Core77 Service Design Awards.
