Designing a blueprint
for health innovation

I helped shape Kaiser Permanente’s first national Center of Excellence in nutrition, a nine-month initiative aimed at elevating the organization’s impact in food-as-medicine programs. The project was created for internal leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners, with the goal of establishing credibility, securing resources, and unifying the Center’s visual and strategic identity. My role encompassed creative direction, design, and production—developing a cohesive design system, crafting clarifying diagrams, and producing compelling collateral that communicated complex ideas with clarity. By creating clear design guidelines for extended teams, the system ensured consistent application across touchpoints and empowered ongoing adoption. The result was a visually and strategically coherent identity that secured senior leadership support, unlocked substantial funding, and set a foundation for the Center’s long-term influence.

“I want to pause and express my deepest gratitude to the Center of Excellence team for your partnership in designing and launching
the Center of Excellence.”

Greg Adams, chair and chief executive officer of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals
